Emma Odekirk----Died Tuesday afternoon August 11, Emma wife of John Odekirk, aged 36. Mrs. Odekirk's death was a great shock to the community, the more so that her illness was of such short duration and unknown to many of her friends, whose first impression that all was not well was the notice of her death. Nothing so sad has occurred in the community for many a day. She was a woman greatly loved by her friends for her kind and cheerful spirit, she was not only a faithful wife and kind mother but a best friend. Her illness was short, she complained of feeling unwell Sunday morning and gradually grew worse until her death Tuesday afternoon. The attending physician says her death was due to heart disease. Mrs. Odekirk leaves a husband and eight children, the youngest of whom is only 11 months old. She was buried Wednesday afternoon in the cemetery south of Vernal Vernal Express August 14, 1891
