Collingham, Mrs. George ---The local community was greatly surprised Tuesday afternoon to learn that Mrs. George Collingham had suddenly died.  The lady had suffered more or less for the past ten months or more with dropsy and heart disease but none considered her life in danger. Since the return of her son George from Sunnyside about a week before her death Mrs. Collingham's health appeared to be slightly improving.  On Tuesday she appeared to be quite cheerful and at 2:30 was eating dinner with her children.  Suddenly she complained of a numbness in one of her arms and her son George rubbed the arm until Mrs. Collingham said it was better.  The son then went to his lot to do some work leaving his sister Annie and younger brother home with the mother.  Shortly after his departure Mrs. Collingham had a sinking spell while lying upon the bed and while her daughter went out to summon all the lady passed away.  The deceased whose maiden was Selina Brown was born at Leamington Warrickshire county England 48 years ago dating from the 2nd of last July.  She died on the day of her wedding anniversary for it was just 30 years ago on Tuesday that she became the bride of George Collingham.  She came to America with her husband 14 years ago and lived at Toronto Canada for one year.  The family then moved to Salt Lake City and in 1893 came to Castledale where they have since lived.  Mrs. Collingham was the mother of nine children six of whom are living.  At the time of her death her husband was in Sunnyside and one daughter Nellie in Salt Lake and another daughter Lizzie in Santa Monica Cal.  The other children were at home.  The absentees were telegraphed for and the husband and Miss Nellie arrived here Wednesday.  Messages were sent to the three brothers of the deceased in Salt Lake City none of whom attended the funeral.

Funeral services were held in the meeting house on Thursday afternoon Bishop Jensen presiding.  A large number of friends and family followed the body to the cemetery.  Emery County Progress April 12, 1902
