Wilcox, John Henry --------since the year 1860, a resident of Mount Pleasant, died at his home in this city, Sunday, after a short illness due to general breaking down from old age. He was 85 years of age February 14, last. Deceased was one of those sturdy settlers who came to Mt Pleasant when it was only a few months old and who remained with the place through all its ups and downs until he was called to another scene of action than this earth. They came to Salt Lake in 1847, John Henry afterwards residing for a short time in Manti, Pleasant Grove, north of Ogden and in Mt, Pleasant in I860, where he has since resided. He took a very active part in the Indian wars of early days. He was married in 1848 to Mary Young, who still survives him. The funeral was held Friday, and was attended by many of the old pioneer friends of deceased.  From other places the following were present: Mr. and Mrs. Richard Westwood, John Wilcox and Mrs. Herbert Day of Moab and Mrs. P.
